The Taproom Coordinator’s role necessitates a proactive, can‐do spirit. Candidates must be passionate, self‐motivated, resourceful, and conscientious. The goal of this role is to work with the management team to oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve Grimm’s taproom objectives in guest service, beer quality, cleanliness and sanitation, sales, costs, and employee retention.

Essential Duties of the Taproom Coordinator

  • Staff Coordination by
    • Appropriately and effectively scheduling bar staff according to daily needs;
    • Responding to staff scheduling requests as needed;
    • Interviewing potential FOH candidates with the management team;
    • Conducting FOH employee reviews/appraisals;
    • Presenting required paperwork to new hires;
    • Training new hires to adhere to service SOP’s and to understand what is special about Grimm;
  • Inventory and Ordering Coordination by
    • Meticulously recording taproom inventory (merch, draft beer, bottled beer, etc);
    • Updating online taproom beer menus as changes occur;
    • Collaborating with the production team to consistently refine beer coordination, requisition, and storage for the taproom in the cold box and low boys;
    • Ordering merch, paper goods, office supplies, cleaning supplies, beverages;
    • Keeping all merch, beverages, and supplies appropriately stocked (no out-of-stock items);
    • Restocking cleaning supplies as boxes arrive mid-week;
  • Weekly deposit coordination by
    • Double-checking bartender nightly register closeout;
    • Double-checking bartender tip outs;
    • Organizing cash deposits and deposit in bank weekly;
    • Obtaining small bills from bank weekly;
    • Tracking movements of cash in and out of safe;
  • Taproom event coordination by
    • Responding to emails regarding on-site events;
    • Working with customers to coordinate taproom buyouts;
    • Organizing food for events with customers, Samesa, and Grimm;
    • Organizing any relevant decorative items for events;
    • Preparing event menus (based on Grimm’s designs);
  • Taproom functioning coordination by
    • Finding ways to refine FOH organizational methods;
    • Improving FOH functioning through organization of spreadsheets, articulate and updated SOP’s, etc;
    • Communicating with FOH staff regularly regarding improvements to bar function and staff performance;
    • Coordinating repair of bar‐related equipment in a timely and cost‐effective manner;
    • Coordinating with cleaning company regarding any taproom cleaning needs/issues;
  • Ongoing coordination by
    • Preparing weekly managerial reports (identify improvements to service performance and taproom function);
    • Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training;
    • Directing and monitoring bartenders’ adherence to all technical and hospitality service standards;
    • Ensuring that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly service at all times;
    • Bringing ideas to the management team regarding increasing taproom profitability;
