Gathering Merlot

Gathering Merlot is extremely special to us—we started this beer one year ago with a whole-cluster fermentation of Merlot grapes from our friend, and Staten Island Ferry Captain, John Viviano’s vineyard on Long Island. We blended 1 year-old sour beer with the grapes and then let it rest in the bottle for an additional year! Time has been VERY good to this beer, and unexpected esters of passionfruit have developed alongside the expected plummy, jammy merlot flavors.
