GENERAL MANAGER
The General Manager is a part of a team that focuses on service and quality standards at the new Grimm location in Prospect Heights. They lead and manage all restaurant operations in partnership with the Director of Culinary Operations (DCO). The General Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high service standards, handling customer inquiries, and collaborating with DCO and kitchen staff to maintain a smooth flow of service.
This role is best suited for a candidate who is passionate, and possesses a strong understanding of effective and excellent service and business practices.

Reports To: The Grimms
Overall duties include (but are not limited to):
- Oversee daily operations of the front of house, including dining room and bar areas.
- Manage, train, and schedule front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food service.
- Monitor cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house areas.
- Enforce restaurant policies and maintain high service standards.
- Handle administrative tasks, including inventory, ordering, and staff performance reviews.
- Weekly bank deposit drops, bank runs, and tracking of cash movement in and out of safes.
- Understanding of all rules and regulations (local, state, federal regulations as well as Grimm’s house rules)
- Manage all problems with technology, systems and/or offsite ordering platforms. You are proactive in troubleshooting and can handle all the moving pieces with ease.
- Be the face of hospitality by both interacting with guests and delivery drivers to provide exceptional service and training up concierge roles in the restaurant to do the same.

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership experience with a minimum of 3 years of restaurant management experience in NYC
- Proven experience running an established restaurant with strong financial and operational results.
- Strong knowledge of craft beer
- Strong computer skills (G Suite, Slack, etc)
- Analytical skills and a solid understanding of business management practices and strategies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to continuously stand, walk up and down stairs, lift/move up to 160 lb. half bbl kegs; frequently bend, reach, and push; and work in confined spaces and close quarters with others
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, variable temperature brewery environment and to work within our 38ºF cold box.
- Interest in nourishing, healthful everyday food with a focus on fermentation.
Schedule & Compensation:
- The schedule includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Benefits include Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and staff discounts.
- $85,000 – $95,000k/yr depending upon experience
- Flexibility and ability to work nights and weekends
